Repression continued

The 2023 OSCE report examines violations since November 2020. UN and EUAA reports describe prosecutions of perceived critics, restrictions on expression and detention conditions. Some prisoner releases do not by themselves show that persecution has ended.

Organisations, media and digital surveillance

EUAA discusses restrictions on independent organisations and media, use of “extremism” law and monitoring of online activity. Individual risk depends on a person’s circumstances and the time period.
